Mountain bike hardtail 27.5"
Are you passionate about riding off-road and conquering trails? Are you an absolute adventurer who likes to add a bit of action to your weekends? Then a 27.5" MTB hardtail is perfect for you. Compared to full-suspension bikes, known as full-suspensions, the hardtail has a rigid rear and is only equipped with a suspension fork for more dynamic riding. This results in more effective power transmission, especially on longer trips. Complex technology is avoided here and the mountain bike is described in its classic form. This means that it requires minimal maintenance and care, as well as being considerably lighter in weight. By reducing it to the essentials, the entry-level price for a mountain bike hardtail is also considerably lower than that of a fully equipped with a damper, bearings and bell crank.

27.5" tires, also known as 650b tires, are the perfect compromise between the original smaller 26" and the large 29" tires. The positive characteristics of both variants are combined in one tire. Compared to the large 29" wheels, the 27.5" wheels are significantly smaller, more maneuverable and agile, similar to the even smaller 26" wheels. They are perfect for narrow trails and technically demanding sections and also ensure good controllability and safety. Due to their size, they are also extremely robust, have good rolling behavior and offer significantly more cornering stability and speed. However, compared to 26" wheels, they are much quieter and are much more suitable for touring. Even though they are a little slower to accelerate than smaller wheels, they do reach a higher top speed. These are advantages that were previously only associated with 29er wheels. With the so-called split size, you can use 27.5" or 29" tires depending on the frame size, to ensure optimal riding characteristics for every need. Especially for smaller riders from a height of about 1.40 m, the smaller wheels provide better control and safety, especially in tight corners, as well as easier handling. From a height of about 1.70m, the 29" wheels can be used to achieve the goal of more driving comfort and traction. Here, a significantly better rolling behavior is given, but when it comes to agility, compromises have to be made.

27.5+ tires
Meanwhile, there is even an extension to 27.5+ wheels, which are equipped with tires up to 3.25" wide. This results in a combination of the maneuverability of 27.5" and the positive characteristics of a fat bike tire. The frame of the MTB hardtail is almost always made of aluminum or carbon. Its rigidity ensures optimal power transmission and also forgives the occasional driving error. In addition, the selected components from Rock Shox, SRAM, Fox and Shimano ensure a large and high-quality model variety. The spring travel ranges between 100mm and 130mm and ensures ultimate driving pleasure even in rougher terrain.
Due to the huge selection, the choice of bike, including the size of the wheels, must be individually tailored to the body size, the intended use and the personal riding style. If you want to use the bike not only off-road but also in the city, you should retrofit it in accordance with the German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations (StVZO).
